The mess was open, and if Chef Constance Powell had to say it was very well done. Those that were in early were helping themselves to the dishes which were out in the warmers, with the two uniformed staff topping up the emptying trays, kept warm over the warmers. She was very pleased to find there were marines, and Starfleet along with some civilians all sitting at different tables,

“Are you still going to complain?” Daytona asked as he stabbed another bit of Beef and Horseradish and waved it infront of his wife. Ilyce moved backwards, and moved her large bowl of fruit out of his way.

“Hubby darling, if you want to spend the rest of the day over the bowl with a stomach that won't stop burning, keep eating.” Ilyce answered. “Kedgeree Korma, Bangers, leek and potato mash with gravy, Quorn Chilli with Green Rice, Crisp Chicken Flatties with grilled sweetcorn tomatoes & Garlic Bread, Easy Paella, Artichoke Pesto Fettuccine, Tuna & Spaghetti Frittata, Indian Pappadum Nachos, Springtime Skillet Lasagne, Warm Chicken Mango & Lentil Salad, Asian Salmon & Rice Cakes and then you've got Devil's Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet Cupcakes & Orange & Passionfruit Butterfly Cupcakes. If I was your Doctor we'd be having a serious talk.”

“Sicilian Arancini?”

“No thankyou.”

“Yes thankyou.”

“Should I bother to ask?”

“No, and he's all yours.” Ilyce told the group of marines who suddenly appeared. “I'm going to write. Just make sure you return him home.”

“Gentlemen we've just put out more food,” Constance told the marines who all headed for the mess. “Marinated Beef with Spicy Tomato Sauce, Strawberry & Raspberry Cheesecake, Milk Chocolate Semifreddo, Herby Lemon Chicken Thighs, Minted Melon Tomato & Prosciutto Salad, Lamb Pide with Red Onion Salad, Chicken & Broccoli Stir Fry, Candy Cane Crunch Fudge, Cranberry & Nut Cheese Log, Reindeer & Snowman Bark, Prawn Cocktail, Lemon Herb & Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken, Salmon & Asparagus Salad with Mustard Dill Vinaigrette, Maple Glazed Turkey with Quick Pistachio & Apple Stuffing, Pistachio & Cranberry Cantuccini, Prawn & Fennel Salad, Berry Pavlova Slab, Lemon Thyme Chicken with Rocket & Pomegranate Salad, Beetroot & Pesto Blinis, Glazed Bourbon & Marmalade Roast Ham, Pork Prosciutto & Pear Salad and Beef Fillet with Tonnato sauce, with Roasted Sweet Potato with Chilli & Cinnamon.” Constance waved more of the crew in and towards the new hot food.
