Damage Report

Mission:
From the Darkness
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: Four Hours after Departure
As Markov approached and entered main engineering he was nearly barreled over by engineers running too and fro. Doing his best to stay out of their way he manoeuvred himself through the hubub of activity to find his Chief. "Commander. How are we looking?" he asked scanning the room and standing to one side as an Ensign strode past.
T'urok' s head spun around at the unexpected voice, "Fek'lar!", he said growling. *looking up* "Captain", *long pause* "I am so sorry. What with all of what is going on down here and just finding out the parts were already on board", *shaking his head, sighing* "I should have been told we had the means to fix this mess!" T'urok was not pleased with the lack of communication and he had only agreed with the XO's explanation but to now almost be insubordinate was way out there. "Again sir, I do apologize for my tone. It is that I am just so frustrated at the present moment", he said stiffly.
"No need to apologise. Quite understandable given the circumstances," Anton replied. "So. How close are we to getting warp engines back?"
T'urok had no choice but it was out of his hands at the moment. "If I were to hazzard a guess, 45 minutes for engines, and maybe 1 hour for shields, give or take. They stuck it to us real good sir. I've had to take her apart, replace power taps, plasma constrictors and rewire half the systems just to make her do what she is doing now! Tell me one thing....is Starfleet crazy to send us out in this condition", he said. His face showed the stress and his eyes had a tired look in them as all of the frustration and agrevation took its toll on his weathered body.
"Starfleet is most definitely crazy, but they want us out there as soon as possible so for now we don't have much of a choice," Anton remarked. "Focus on the engines. If we need shields at this stage of our trip we are royally up shit creek without a paddle, to use an old earth expression."
"Well, I suppose Starfleet had their reasons but still, I think they are plum loco, and stupid, to send us out like this", T'urok smirked. Running a other diagnostic on the warp engines was going to take about 15 minutes to 20 minutes to complete. The whole time both the captain and T'urok, everyone working on the engines worked quickly and efficiently. T'urok checked the diagnostics 20 minutes later and found that they had warp finally. Now all that remained was the shields.
"Captain, we have warp drive", he added.
Anton stood out of the way while his Chief worked away. "Excellent. Glad to hear it. You can work on the shields as we set off. We have to quickly swap a few last minute crew out and then we are good to go yes?"
"Yes sir. She is ready to fly captain, only no more surprises please", he said.
"I'll try my best," he replied tapping his comm badge. "Markov to bridge. Access file Powell Gamma Echo four nine. Set course to destination and engage. Take us slowly up to warp seven."
From way back in the crawlway T'urok heard someone yell something. He was about to bellow when Parker said, "Chief shields are coming back online."
"Well now that took less time than I thought", he said smiling to himself. Turning to the Captain, "Well at least we have warp and shields. Now to monitor everything again and the computer cores to see if we can avoid any more blowouts", T"urok said finally smiling.
